Candace Woods
Vice President - Marketing & Communications
Candace has been working for the organization since the start of it all in 2014. As a survivor of domestic violence, she knows the impact it has on a child’s life and on a mother, first-hand. Candace decided to use her unique skillset and creative eye to propel What is Your Voice, Inc. forward with their cause.
Candace enjoys telling the stories of women and their struggles. She is always coming up with new ideas and thinking of new ways to portray stories that go against the grain. She wants everyone experiencing domestic violence to understand that they do have a way out and there are people who can help. When the opportunity came up to leave the land of movie-making and move to an organization like WIYV, it was a no-brainer.
When she is not telling stories, Candace can be found in the mountains or traveling abroad. She is an avid skier, traveler, and celiac disease advocate.
Candace is a graduate of Washington and Jefferson College with a Bachelors of the Arts Degree in Communication with a concentration in Media and Film. Candace also holds a minor in Spanish. Additionally, she recently completed her Master’s of Science Degree in Communication with a concentration in Digital Media and Journalism at Syracuse University at the world renowned S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications.
